In college I took an ancient history course, in that course the prof discussed armies that traveled years to get to sieges of enemies. On those marches women were banned from traveling with the armies, so comradeship, or he termed it Comradery of the soldiers took on the role of every need of the group were to be taken care of. This went for food, clothing, needs of comfort of all down to and including sexual needs! There were male concubines who were also fierce fighting soldiers and with entitled officers private concubines who served as bodyguards and soldiers during battles guarding the officers backs while fighting. While the prof was explaining a lot of the male students were shifting in their seats and the girls were all blushing deeply red! At that moment I do not think any male in the class could have stood up! |
