Introduction:

This is a prequel to my stories about Uncle Dan. This story follows the transition on Morgan Reynolds and how she became who she is today. This story is for background information on a character and has NO SEX in it. I hope you enjoy reading the character development as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
Morgan Reynolds, for the most part, was your typical teenager. He played basketball, baseball, rode a skateboard and liked trail riding on his bike. On the outside, he was just like any other boy in his class. But on the inside, he felt different. His best friend, Megan, had a closet full of beautiful dresses that Morgan just loved. They often hung out at Megan's house and played with her Barbies, played dress up and did girly things. Morgan loved spending time with his friend and doing these things. Since he felt more comfortable as a girl, he had talked his mom and dad into letting his Auburn hair grow out. It was now down past his collar and getting longer each month.

The summer before his second year of Middle School, Morgan got up the nerve and went to talk to his mom.

“Mom?” he sheepishly asked,

“Yes, Baby?” his mom responded.

“Do you ever wish I was a girl instead of a boy?”

His mom looked at him. Her mind pondering where this conversation was coming from. “When I found out I was pregnant, I hoped for a girl. What mother wouldn't? But when we found out you were a boy, I was just as thrilled. Why do you ask?”

Morgan looked down at the floor. “I sometimes feel like i'd rather be a girl. I play dress up with Megan and I like the pretty dresses and the make up.”

His mother walks over and hugs him. “Baby, there's nothing wrong with that.”

Morgan pulls back from her. “But if any of the boys found out, they'd make fun of me. Or worse, they'd beat me up.” His mother pulled him back into her. “Baby, there's not a lot we can do about that. You just be you and don't worry about anyone else.”

Morgan pulls away again. “There is something we can do. Megan and I looked on the internet and found websites saying there are hormones I can take and make me a girl.”

Mrs. Reynolds was shocked atl the resourcefulness of her son. “You're talking about transitioning?” Morgan nodded his head. “That's a mighty big step. Are you sure that is what you want to do?”

Morgan looked at his mom with pleading eyes. “I feel more like a girl than I do a boy, Mom. But what about Dad? He'll be mad won't he?”

She pulled him in close to her for another hug. “You let me worry about your father.”

Morgan put his arms around her waist and squeezed. “Thanks, Mom.”

“That's what I'm here for Morgan.”

He pulled away and ran to his room. The first step was accomplished. Too bad the rest of them wouldn't be as easy to tackle as this one.

A few weeks had passed since Morgan had talked to his mom. He came in from school that afternoon and his mom and dad were sitting at the table. As soon as he entered, his dad called him in to him. Morgan slowly made his way to join them.

“What's this I hear about you wanting to be a girl?” his dad barked.

“ I..I..don't..know Dad, I just feel happy doing girl things with Megan.”

His Dad slammed his fist down on the table. “Damn it Morgan! You're a boy. You're not some sissy. You're my son. You damn well better start acting like it.”

Morgan's Mom grabs her husbands arm. “Now Jim, settle down. We talked about this.” Morgan's eyes are beginning to fill with tears.

Jim looks at his son. “Morgan?” Morgan looks up at him. In a calmer voice, his father continues. “Why do you feel like you need to change? I thought we had fun doing all the father son stuff like fishing and playing catch? You want to give that all up?”

“Daddy, I don't want to give that up. I still like fishing and I love playing catch, but I don't feel right as a boy. I like hanging out with Megan and putting on her dresses. I like playing with her make up. I just feel more like myself when I'm with her doing those things.”

Jim sat silent for several minutes. He pushed his chair back and leaned forward, hanging his head. “You realize it's not going to be easy, don't you?”

Morgan nodded.

“Yu're probably going to get teased and picked on. You might even end up in a few fights. Is that what you want?”

“I know Dad. I just want to feel like me. Right now I feel like I'm somebody else.”

Jim let out a labored sigh. He looked toward his wife. “And you think this is a good idea?” He questioned.

“I think it's what is best for Morgan.” she replied.

Jim turned back towards his son. “If we are going through with this, the first thing you have to do is get a psychologist to sign off on it. Once you've passed that hurdle, then we need to find a doctor to prescribe you the hormones.” Jim paused for a moment. “Have you thought about what you'll change your name to?”

Morgan nodded. “I'm gonna keep my name. It's good for a boy or a girl so that way I don't have to worry about people learning a new name for me.”

Jim smiled. “That's pretty smart thinking....daughter.”

Upon hearing that, Morgan jumped up and hugged his father. “Thank you, Daddy. You don't know how much this means to me.”

Martha Reynolds chimed in. “Go get ready for supper. We're going out tonight.”

Morgan jumped up and ran to get cleaned up. Jim lookes up at Martha.

“It's not going to be easy.” he told her.

“I know, but it's what she wants.”

Jim let out another sigh. “I just hope SHE knows what she is getting herself into.” With that last statement, he stands up and goes to get ready himself.

Within a few weeks, Morgan's parents had found a psychologist to do the mental exam. It was a lot of questions repeated over and over again to make sure she knew what she was signing up for. After two hours of grilling, the doctor was convinced and approved her mental status for transitioning. Her family doctor gave her a pre***********ion to get her first round of hormone treatments. Morgan excitedly began the injections. For the first few weeks, she noticed no changes. At the 6 month mark, Morgan was sitting at the table with her mother, talking about different things. All of a sudden, her mother had a puzzled look on her face. Morgan stopped talking and looked at his mom.

“What?” he asked.

“Your voice. It's changing. I just now noticed it.” his mother said. “Have you noticed any other changes in your body?”

Morgan looked embarrassed. “I don't have erections like I used to and my nipples tend to get sore every now and then.”

Martha walked over beside him. “Stand up and take off your shirt.” she ordered. Morgan complied. Martha examined her former son's body. “Your arms look a little leaner, like you're losing some of your muscle mass. You look a little curvier around your hips too. You're getting a very shapely figure.”

Morgan looked over her shoulder at his ass, trying to see. “I hadn't noticed anything yet.” he admitted.

“Well I'm beginning to notice. I think we need to go shopping. If you're going to start looking like a girl then you need girl clothes. Call Megan and then go get dressed.”

Morgan grabbed the cordless phone and ran to his room.

Thirty minutes later, they had picked up his best friend and were off to the mall.

At the mall, they hit a lot of the different Misses clothing stores. Megan helped Morgan pick out dresses, outfits, pants, shorts, tops and even bra and panties. There final stop was the beauty supply store where Martha bought Morgan an assortment of cosmetics. Then it was off to their home where Megan and Martha showed Morgan how to do her foundation, highlight her cheeks and use eye liner and eye shadow. When they were done, Megan helped Morgan put on one of the new dresses. Morgan walked out of her room and into the living room where her mother was sitting.

“What do you think, Mom?” Morgan inquired.

Martha stared at the lovely young girl in front of her. She admired the light yellow sundress and the open toed white sandals on her feet. She noticed the French braid Megan had put her hair into. She was a vision of beauty.

“Morgan, my dear? You are beautiful.”

Morgan blushed at the comment. “Really?” she asked.

“Absolutely!”

Just then, they heard the door open as her father came home from work. “Honey, I'm hu....” his voice trailed off. Jim stood there, looking at Morgan.

“Our daughter is quite pretty, don't you think, Jim?” Martha asked.

Jim's gaze was fixed on the girl in front of him. “Oh Morgan. You look wonderful. I love your hair. Megan?”

The girl beside Morgan giggled. “I thought the braid was a nice touch.”

Jim nodded in agreement. “Yes, it looks very nice.”

Morgan ran over and hugged her father. “Thank you Daddy. I'm glad you like it.” Morgan released the hug on her dad and ran upstairs with Megan close on her heels.

With Megan's help, Morgan began wearing her new clothes and getting used to them Soon, it was time to start school again. This would be the toughest test for the new Morgan Reynolds. With Megan and Martha by her side, Morgan boldly walked into the school. Their first stop was the Principal's office, where they informed the administration about Morgan's transition. If only everyone at that school was as accepting of her changes.

As she walked into her first class, she could feel the eyes upon her. She could hear the snickering and the whispers. As the bell rang, the teacher asked for every ones attention.

“Class?” Mrs. Preston yelled. “I want to welcome you to a new year. We have a few things to discuss. Morgan Reynolds is now a girl. You will show her respect and refer to her in an appropriate manner, You will not tease her or make fun of her in my class. Is that understood?”

From the back of the room Morgan hears “Fucking faggot.”

“Billy Rienhart? Get up here now!” Mrs. Preston demanded. The boy gets up and walks to the front of the room in front of the teacher. “We will not have that kind of language used in this school. Apologize now or go to the principal's office.”

Billy turns toward Morgan. “Sorry.” He then turns to head back to his seat. Under his breath he mutters “Sorry your a fucking faggot freak.” The kids who heard him begin to giggle. Morgan brushed it off and went about her business.

For the first semester, it was the same every day. She was called a sissy, a pansy,, a faggot, a freak and many other names under the sun. Morgan tried to let it go, but after months of this, she was beginning to feel the effects of the ridicule. Her parents noticed. It was just before Thanksgiving when her dad announced they were buying a new house on the other side of town. This meant Morgan would be going to a new school and would get a fresh start. She wasn't to thrilled to be moving away from Megan. They had been best friends since first grade. But these two were inseparable, so they would stay in contact, hang out and have sleep overs just as they always had.

Life for Morgan Reynolds got easier. The people at her new school only knew her, not her former self, so they were a lot more accepting. She managed to graduate and made plans to go to college. She decided on Nursing. She applied and got accepted into Peterson University which had a highly ranked nursing program. it was there that she met her first boyfriend, Mark Thomas. They dated most of the first semester. Morgan loved having a boyfriend. Mark treated her well, always opening the door for her, buying her flowers and candy and treating her like a gentleman should. They kissed and made out a lot, but never took it any farther.

One night, while sitting in Morgan's dorm room watching a movie, Mark asked her about furthering their relationship.

“Morgan?” he said “We've been going out for a while now. Have you ever thought about taking the next step?”

Morgan knew where he was going. “You mean sex?”

Mark nervously laughed. “uhm....a...yeah....sex.”

Morgan turned to fae him and took his hands in hers. “Mark, before we do, there's something you need to know.”

Mark nodded his head. “Okay, what is it?”

Morgan reluctantly admitted, to him. “I'm not what you think I am. I was born Morgan Reynolds, but I was born a guy.”

Mark had a shocked look on his face. “You're a guy?” he asked.

“I was born a guy,, but now I'm a woman...except for one little detail.”

Mark looked at her crotch. “You have a dick?”

Morgan blushed. “Yes, I have a cock. Does that scare you?”

Mark put his hands on his knees. “I'm not gay, Morgan.”

“I'm not saying you are. If two people are in love, it shouldn't matter what their genitalia are. Couldn't we just try to be intimate and see how it goes?”

Mark thought about it for a minute. “Okay. I'll try.”

Morgan leaned forward and began to kiss him. Mark was hesitant, but trying to cooperate. After a few minutes, he pulled away.

“Morgan, I can't. I just can't! For Pete's sake! You're a dude with a girl's body! I...I...I just can't.” He got up, grabbed his jacket and headed out the door. Morgan sat there for a while just crying. Her first boyfriend, her first love, her first broken heart. She knew love would not be easy, but she was not prepared for this.

Middle of her spring semester, Morgan met Jake. He was cowboy. A handsome fellow who rode saddle broncs and roped calves.. He had came up to Morgan and her friend Devon while they were studying in the Library. Jake asked her out and she accepted. After they exchanged phone numbers and he left, Devon couldn't help but ask her a bunch of questions.

“How are you going to handle this one, Morgan?” Devon questioned.

“What do you mean?” She replied.

“You know exactly what I mean. Remember Mark?”

“How can I forget? I cried for a week when we broke up.”

“You're gonna have to tell him at some point. You can't lead him on like you did Mark.”

Morgan reluctantly agreed. “I know. It's just....i don't know when the right time is.”

“Well girl” Devon said. “You'd better start figuring it out. And soon!”

Friday night rolled around and Jake showed up at the dorm to pick Morgan up. He escorted her to his truck and opened the door for her. Morgan climbed in. Jake went around and got in behind the steering wheel. As he started to turn the key in the ignition, Morgan stopped him.

“Wait.”

Jake looked at her, a bit surprised.

'There's something we need to talk about before we go.” Jake released his grip on the key and leaned back.

“Shoot, darling. What is it.?”

“”I need you to know that I'm not like other girls.”

Jake looked puzzled. “What do you mean you're not like other girls?”

“I was born a guy. I'm trans.” she admitted.

Jakes face got red. He backhanded her across her cheek. “You're a fucking dude?” Jake opened his door and got out. He reached across and grabbed Morgan by the hair, pulling her out his side of the truck. As he was pulling her out, he began punching her. “You fucking faggot. I ought to kill you for thinking I was gonna suck your fucking dick.” Jake threw her to the ground and began kicking her with his boots, Morgan's face was bleeding and she was screaming in pain. Jake kept punching and kicking her. Two guys heard the commotion and came running. As soon as they saw Morgan on the ground, they grabbed Jake and pulled him off of her. Another person ran into the dorm and called security and the ambulance. Within minutes, the campus police arrived and took Jake into custody. A few moments later the ambulance had Morgan loaded up and was headed toward the hospital.

Martha and Jim Reynolds got the call and made the two hour trip to see their daughter. When they got to the hospital, the doctor came out to talk to them.

“Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds? I'm Dr. Steadman.” He said as he held his hand out to shake Jim's..

Martha burst out “How is she? How is Morgan?”

“She is stable. She was attacked by her date when he found out she was transgender. She has a few broken ribs, a broken cheek bone and a broken nose.” He continued. “There are no signs of internal injuries or bleeding. She will need to have a consult with a plastic surgeon to repair the damage to her face. With the advances in technology we have, you'll never even know she was hurt when they get done.”

Jim Reynolds nodded his head. “When can we see her?”

“She may be sleeping.” Dr. Steadman responded. “But the nurse can take you back as soon as you're ready.”

“Thank you, Doctor.” Jim shook his hand again as the doctor headed back down the hallway.

A nurse came towards them. “Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds? If you'll follow me, I'll take you to your daughter.” Jim and Martha followed her into the ICU ward.

They entered the room and saw Morgan laying there in the hospital bed. Bruises on her body, bandages across her face and around her head and tubes stuck into both arms. Jim looked at the clock.

“Martha, I'll go get us a hotel room. You can stay with her tonight. I'll be back early in the morning and relieve you. That way one of us is always here with her.” Martha shook her head in agreement as Jim went to the nurses station to get her a pillow and blankets. When he returned, Martha settled in for a long night with their injured daughter. At six the next morning, Martha awoke to the smell of coffee.

“Good morning, sweetheart.” Jim said as he handed his wife the styrofoam cup.

“Good morning, Jim.”

“Anything new to report?”

“No” Martha replied. “She's been out all night long.” They both turned to look as they heard the sheets on the bed begin to rustle. Morgan let out a low groan. Her parents moved to her bedside. Morgan opened her eyes, blinking as her sight adjusted to her present surroundings.

“Where am I?” she groggily asked.

“You're in the hospital. That guy did a number on you.” Jim told her.

Morgan put her hand to her head. “Last thing I remember was him dragging me out of his truck.”

Jim grabbed his daughter's hand. “No need to worry about him. He's in jail now. They are charging him with assult and battery and attempted murder since it's considered a hate crime. He won't be getting out anytime soon.”

Morgan squeezed her daddy's hand. “Daddy, I'm so sorry.”

Jim interrupted her. “Morgan, it's not your fault. You didn't ask for this. There's nothing to be sorry about.”

“I know, but you and momma had to drive all the way up here. I'm so sorry.”

Martha put her hand on Morgan's shoulder. “Honey, it's okay. We're here for you and we love you. We're going to take care of you, always.”

Morgan broke down crying while her parents stood by her side, comforting her.

After a while, a doctor came into the room. “Ms. Reynolds? How are you doing this morning? I'm Dr. Glass. I'm a reconstructive surgeon. Can I take a look at you and see what we are dealing with?” Morgan nodded.

Dr. Glass removed the bandages from her face and began inspecting her nose and cheek bone. A nurse came in a few minutes later with a tub of bandages and tape. When the doctor finished examining her, he replaced the bandages with fresh ones.

“Well,, I've got good news and probably better news.” He paused for a second as he looked up towards Jim and Martha. “Good news is that I don't see anything that we can't fix. We will have you looking as good as new in no time.”

Morgan smiled. “So what's the other news?”

“You've transitioned, right?” Morgan nodded. “Normally insurance doesn't pay for cosmetic surgery to change your physical appearance. Have you heard of feminization procedures?” Morgan nodded again. Dr. Glass continued. “When we go in to repair your face, we can do a little extra work and soften some of your features. We won't change a whole lot, but just soften the brow. We need to repair both cheekbones and the nose. We will also go in and do some work on your neck to conceal your Adam's apple, if that's okay with you. There are quite a few bruises on your neck so we need to make sure that there isn't any damage on the larynx.” Dr. Glass winked at her.

“That would be great” Morgan said. “I had thought about having that done but didn't know how I would pay for it.”

Dr. Glass reaches out and takes her hand. “You don't have to worry about that now.” He turns towards the parents. “We will need a couple of good quality photos of her before this incident. We don't want to drastically change her appearance, so we need something we can reference.” The Reynolds shook his hand and he left the room.

Two weeks later, Morgan was back at home with her parents. Her bandages covering her new face and she was catching up with her classes online. At the start of the Spring semester, she began going back to classes on campus. Devon was excited to have her best friend back.

“Morgan!” Devon yelled as Morgan exited the elevator and headed towards their dorm room. She ran up and hugged her tight causing Morgan to drop her suitcase and the bags in her arms. “You are a sight for sore eyes.”

“Thanks Devon. I was beginning to think you had forgotten about me.”

“Me? Forget you? That'll be the day.” Devon helped her pick up her belongings as they headed on down to their room. When they got in there, they both sat on the bed. “Morgan? Have I got some good news for you.”

“What is it?”

Devon grabbed her hands. “A hospital in Oklahoma is pre-hiring nurses. They are so desperate for them, they are hiring us before we even graduate.”

Morgan had a puzzled look on her face. “But...how?”

Devon continued. “They hire you and it is all contingent on passing the State exam. Pass it and you've got the job. They give you, like, a month after you graduate to get certified. So? I think we should apply. If we both get hired, then we can move together and continue to be room mate!”

Morgan's heart rate increased as she thought about the possibility. “Oh Devon. That would be awesome. Let's do it.”

At the end of the semester, Morgan graduated and got her degree. Devon found them an apartment and packed items an immeiately made the move to begin work. Morgan followed a few weeks later. A new home, a new job, a new life. Now she just needed to find that one man who would love her and treat her with respect.

I tried getting factual information for this story. Unfortunately, for most transgender people, the process is very stressful and not at all pleasant. I did have several that shared some of their experiences which I incorporated into this story. So please don't rip me for the facts not being what you think they are. This whole story was based on the experiences of several individuals. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
