Everyone involved are victims of a co-dependent system of semi-poverty and bad government. A young man, especially one with a good man is sought out by a young woman. He's usually too drunk or too gullable and she knows that a pregnancy will give her fiancial independance between the government and child support. She can and usually does remain single to protect her income, access to health care, and personal independance. The man suffers the cost without the fulfillment and support of a family. The child is most often raised with less love, attention and guidance than a traditional family can offer. And the single mother gets caught in a trap that's more initially appealing than emotionally healthy. She needs to repeat the process every several years as the state won't support her when her as substantially when she's no longer caring for a young child. With few skills and child care, her options are few. |
