It is also a statement on our society in general. If this story was written and posted some where between,1996 and 2001 then the internet was a baby and we did not yet have Cell phones in great use. I can relate to this Story very well, from his point of view. 17 years difference in age is wide but its not the end of the World. I was 42 and my Wife was 26 when we met. Plus she had two kids 6 and 4. 23 years later our youngest daughter is 20. Not the lady I am married to but in life I have picked unattractive over attractive in hope of loyalty, it diden't work.
