This may not be the case as you have never really spoken of her since Paul left her for a younger woman. With you having a grandaughter you have answered the question I had about Sherri finding happiness. The one thing that I am still curious of is why you and Cathy never tried to have children as I know why you and Kay could not. It has given me much peace and has helped me to understand that there are others who have gone through similiar things. Just like you and Duke who share a kindred spirit, I believe if I ever met you I would call you friend. I hope you continue to write and do believe your story would give much to people especially veterans. Your story emphasizes that we are not alone in what we have seen, done and experienced and I believe that those of us who have seen combat can relate to it far better than most. If you ever do that book, encourage Sherri, Kay, Kathy and Duke to write portions of it from their view because they see things that we don't especially in our bad times but also in our good ones. You were lucky enough to find one another so hold on tight and don't let go. I do wish for another installment to find out how things went once you returned to Canada. |
