I suspect I was targeted by a negative voting troll a couple weeks ago, so I can relate to this story. I feel like the trolls who judiciously vote negative are less likely to be self-righteous WASP women and more likely to be immature writers who saw you rated negative on one of their stories or have stories lower on the front page, but your story was hilarious nonetheless. It's controversial but maybe if we make a big enough stink this site can work out better systems like having a voting system reliant only on positive ratings. Unfortunately the mods already know the flaws in the site's structure, and they themselves have been asking for improvements but nothing's being done about it. |
