Very interesting perspective, that my atheist brother would very much agree with. And the destructive effects of religion gone amok are well documented. But, many people of faith, who are not automatically delusional or stupid, report that mediation or prayers to an assumed personage has richly positive effects in their lives. Each has to determine in their lives the wisdom of such efforts. |

Thank you for your thoughts. FYI, I have never used an idol in my life. My prayers were always to the personage of God through his son. I have not talked to him as a supplicant in ten years, only as an respectful interested party. I fully expect to be vilified by him at my death, it is the price of having a logical relationship with him. |
