Some of my stories are 'slice-of-life' depictions. Few of them started that way. MOM AND POP is an exception, as I wanted to show the horrible agony a simple decision can have on a couple. This story started out like a lot, with no ending in mind. Much of my writing is organic, it starts, it grows and goes where it wants to go. But, with this story, it came to reflect the deep respect that I have for those of the human family who rise above the usual responses we have to our personal tragedies and the serious deficiencies that these sometimes leave in our lives. They are real heroes to me. And I believe that some form of karma really exists. |

I am glad that you liked it, but it was not written to bash women. It could have worked just as well in the reverse. I just wanted to play out the normal expectations that come with a growing relationship and the shipwreck that results when one of them drops out precipitously for unknown reasons. |

AN OPEN LETTER TO GOD

Pernicious, without a doubt you ARE a positive and upbeat Christian. However, the facts that unfold in the whole Bible show that he loves his faithful children. He hates those that ignore or oppose him. And he can be very rough on his servants when the deviate from his standards. That being so, I still hope the well-meaning people like you will transcend his occasional arbitrariness and get the kind-hearted and beautiful future with him that you envision. |
